Police blocks NWSC engineers from drawing sewerage from Nsambya Police Barracks. They have given the engineers one hour to wind up their work or else they bring teargas for them. According to Engineer Alex Gisagara who is supervising the work right now, he had to bargain with them to let them continue drilling under the Mukwano road where they intend to lay the sewerage pipes but the officers in both uniform and plain clothing led by a one SCP Edyegu did not want to listen.
They said they have a development plan for that land and NWSC is interfering with it. Apparently, they want to build a shopping mall there but documents from NWSC show that the land belongs to Uganda Lands Commission hence it is government land. The officers say they need compensation first before work can continue. Reports Stephen Otage.
